we just spent many hours in a lab after the university had been locked up for the night, studying histology samples. a teacher-researcher just told us to shut the door and turn off the lights when we’re done, but he came back 4 hours later to find us still at it while listening to the 3 hours 40 minutes long LotR official soundtrack album from my laptop.

:0 it was on the base game (I only had the basic game back then too!), you’d have to pretty much run into the wilds south of Chorrol to encounter the village on your own BUT you get the quest at some point if you talk to the argonian storekeeper in Chorrol about her missing daughter. I need to replay Oblivion too, there are so many cool quests I seem to have missed, not to mention Shivering Isles :—-DD

yeesssss I meant Hackdirt, near Chorrol with the questline “A Shadow Over Hackdirt"… I loved that place, the people there were wicked in a proper Lovecraftian manner (which would be accurate as the questline is a direct homage to a short story by Lovecraft). The quest is kinda hard to miss I think so maybe you weren’t as impressed or? :——-DD (also grats on your new url, way to go from grim serious business to BEEEEER!)
Oblivion: Some women are robbing and blackmailing married men. I need you to find the suspects, let them try to seduce you, and catch them in the act.
Skyrim: Some women are robbing and blackmailing married men. I need you to go into this dungeon full of Draugr and kill them.
Oblivion: These ghosts are haunting my ship. Here’s a silver sword. Can you kill them for me?
Skyrim: These ghosts are haunting my ship. Here’s the location of a dungeon full of Draugr. Go and find an item from there to help me drive them away.
Oblivion: Climb into the well out back and fetch me a ring that sunk to the bottom. JOKES ON YOU! That ring is going to make you drown.
Skyrim: A bandit stole my ring, man. Can you go into this dungeon and get it back for me? Oh, and watch out for the Draugr.
Oblivion: Guess what? You’re trapped on an island where hunters hunt people for fun, and you’re the prey. Have fun!
Skyrim: Some guy is running a game on an island where people hunt other people for fun. Word has it he’s in a dungeon nearby looking for treasure to fund his game. Go and kill him. What? You want to see this game for yourself? Nonsense, the dungeon will be far more convenient. Off you go. Try not to trip over any Draugr.
There was a large argument in the chat about whether or not to get the Pokémon Eevee. Doing so would have been a risky move, as it would necessitate evolving it to Vaporeon in order to have a Pokémon which would learn Surf. This would require the viewers to successfully buy and use a Water Stone without wasting all the player’s money. If this failed, something would need to be deposited in the PC in order to get Lapras, another Pokémon which could learn Surf, which would risk accidentally releasing a high-level Pokémon.
Despite the obvious downsides to doing so, the majority of users chose to get Eevee. They then failed to buy a Water Stone, accidentally buying a Fire Stone and evolving Eevee into Flareon. After going to the PC to deposit it, they accidentally released “ABBBBBBK(” (a.k.a. Abby) the Charmeleon and “JLVWNNOOOO” (a.k.a. Jay Leno) the Rattata. They also put Pidgeot, the highest-level Pokémon on the team, and the Helix Fossil into the PC (although both were later retrieved). Because the source of all this was Eevee, Eevee began to be viewed as a “false prophet” and servant of the Dome Fossil, which was viewed as Satan. However a day later, Flareon was released, the same fate of Abby and Jay Leno.

The same month when storyboards came about [for the movie], Miyazaki set off to the ancient forests of Yakushima, in Kyushu and the mountains of Shirakami-Sanchi in northern Honshu [of Japan].
“It was just right, the ruins of this ancient forest reflects on us as humans. We need to learn to appreciate what we have left of the environment, and I wanted this as a theme for the animation.” -Miyazaki on his inspiration for Princess Mononoke
